“Bapco’s Graduates” is a series which will shed light on individuals in leadership positions across the Kingdom of Bahrain who were Bapco employees and are “graduates” of our respected Company. Bapco has a rich history of developing talents as it is one of the oldest and most reputable Companies in the Kingdom. Through this series, we will capture these leaders and highlight their achievements across the Kingdom as well as on an international level.
In 1985, Mr. Adnan Al-Mahmood was an employee at the Computer Services Department in Bapco, where he worked for four years before joining GPIC. He rose through the ranks and is currently the General Manager of Corporate Support at the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC). He holds a Master’s degree in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems from the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom.
Mr. Al-Mahmood joined GPIC in January of 1989, having undergone extensive training and development throughout his career both in the Kingdom of Bahrain and overseas. He has held several senior positions in GPIC, including Quality Facilitator, Procedures and Systems Superintendent, Information Technology and Knowledge Manager until he reached his current role of General Manager of Corporate Support.
Mr. Al-Mahmood is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration, representing the private sector on the Board. He is also a member of the Research & Development Strategy Steering Committee at the Higher Education Council at the Ministry of Education as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Open University in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He was a founding member of the Bahrain Internet Society and the Bahrain Quality Society.
