I am honored to be appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco). Bapco is a landmark company in our beloved Kingdom’s rich history and has undergone a remarkable evolution over the years. We are now at a juncture to begin an exciting new phase of further transformation by leveraging the developments underway, generating new value, unlocking new opportunities, driving new growth, and delivering new efficiencies.

The vision is to further develop Bapco into a leading world-class company. This forms part of a wider national goal of sustainable value creation in the Kingdom’s oil and gas sector and to achieve the ambitions set forth in the Economic Vision for Bahrain 2030, as guided under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

This mandate has been given to us by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding), and one which I, my fellow Directors and Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, the Chief Executive Officer of Bapco , are committed to delivering.

With the full support of the Board of Directors, the management and employees I am confident that we will work together to realise this bold ambition, that will optimize and synergize the operating model and deliver breakthrough value built on the safe, reliable, timely and successful completion of the Bapco Modernization Programme (BMP); integration of the Kingdom’s sustainable development goals; higher standards of ethics and integrity; and overall passion to excel and innovate.
