Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation Honors Hardworking Workers
07 May 2024Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation held its tenth ceremony to honor hardworking workers. The ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Labor, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, and Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, the Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Refining. Also in attendance were Mr. Mohammed Abdul Jabbar Al Kooheji, the Second Vice President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Yaqoub Yousef Mohammed, the President of the Free Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, and several CEOs and heads of companies.
The ceremony began with a speech by His Excellency the Minister of Labor, Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan. He conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the sponsor of the ceremony and the leader of Bahrain's comprehensive development process. The Minister also extended greetings from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who is dedicated to developing the national economy, creating job opportunities, and securing workers' rights and benefits. The Minister expressed gratitude to the Free Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions for organizing the ceremony and their continuous efforts to enhance cooperation between the three production parties in Bahrain.
The event had a special feature showcasing the achievements of people with determination. During the highlight video, Ms. Zahra Ahmed Ali, a visually impaired Business Administration and Information System Management graduate since 2013, expressed her desire to secure employment. Dr. Jawahery, in a noble act, offered her a job on the spot at Bapco Refining. The Minister of Labor hailed and admired Dr. Jawahery's initiative. Dr. Jawahery expressed that his action aligns with the directions of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of Bapco Energies.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that a total of 96 distinguished employees were honored during the two trade union celebrations this year. The General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions organized a celebration on April 24th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, while the Free Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions organized another celebration on May 7, 2024, at the same venue.
Dr. Jawahery commended the efforts of both the Federations of Bahrain Trade Unions for their dedication to honoring workers in the private sector. He also thanked the company's Board of Directors, led by His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Jihad Al-Zain, for their commitment to developing policies and strategies that support workers, including training and qualification programs and providing motivating work environments.
He expressed his appreciation for the employees of Bapco Refining and acknowledged their sincere efforts. He considered them the foundation of the company's achievements and congratulated the honored employees for their exceptional performance. He emphasized the importance of the workers' role in developing the nation and creating its prosperous present. He wished them continued success and excellence.
