Bapco holds annual HSE awards ceremony for 2022
23 March 2023The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) held its annual Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) ceremony for the Year 2022, to recognize Bapco and contractors’ employees for their outstanding HSE achievements for last year.
This annual gathering at Bapco Club in Awali is an important event in Bapco’s calendar during which HSE performance is reviewed, and awards are presented to the company's departments and contractors who excelled in HSE performance and practices during the year.
Bapco’s Chief Executive Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery commended Bapco not only for its outstanding HSE performance but also for the role it plays in promoting strong HSE culture in Bahrain and the region. Dr. Jawahery also congratulated Bapco winning departments and contractors for creating a safe workplace and protecting the environment throughout a challenging year.
During the ceremony, Mr. Hafedh AlQassab, Acting Deputy Chief Executive Operations and Bapco Modernization Programme (BMP) Project Director and Chairman of the Health, Safety, and Environment Committee, presented an overview of the Company's performance in the areas of health, safety, and the environment during the past year and the records achieved in this regard, expressing his thanks to Bapco employees and contractors for their great care and commitment in maintaining a safe workplace. He added that everyone must continue to exercise the utmost attention and caution and remain vigilant, stressing that safety will always remain, as it does now, a top priority for the Company in all the initiatives it implements.
Winners were identified for consistently supporting HSE initiatives and adding value, transferring good practices to others and innovative management of HSE issues. Bapco’s winning departments are as follows: Risk Category 1: Reliability Maintenance Department (RMD), Risk Category 2: Process Control Engineering Department (PCED), Risk Category 3: Supply and Marine Department. As for Contractors, the winners are: Large Contractor: Comsip Al A'Ali, and for Small Contractor: Ebrahim Hassan Mahdi. Also, a number of employees were honoured for their excellent HSE performance and active contributions in areas like adopting the IVMS safe behaviours while driving company vehicles, participation in Operational Audits and participation in 100% of HSE Campaigns Activities.
